FAQs
Answers to the questions we hear most, across cyber security, managed IT, and cloud phones.
Cyber Security
Phishing is when an attacker sends fake emails that impersonate a trusted source, a bank, supplier, or colleague, to trick your team into handing over passwords or sensitive information. The best defence is a mix of staff training, multi-factor authentication, and good password management.
Ransomware is malicious software that encrypts your files and holds them hostage until you pay a ransom. You can dramatically reduce the risk with reliable, tested backups and by restricting admin privileges so the malware can’t spread.
Password attacks involve stealing or cracking your login credentials. They’re especially effective because most people reuse the same password across many logins, so one breach can unlock several accounts. Unique passwords, a password manager, and multi-factor authentication shut this down.
Insider threats come from within your own organisation. Around 34% of attacks do. They can be malicious (a disgruntled employee) or simply negligent (someone clicking the wrong link). Clear access controls, monitoring, and ongoing training all help manage the risk.
Attackers now use machine learning to automate and speed up their work, crafting more convincing scams and finding weaknesses faster than ever. That makes layered, continuously monitored protection more important than relying on any single tool.
Antivirus alone is no longer enough. Modern protection layers advanced tools, expert monitoring, staff training, and strategic advice into a complete system, so you’re defended against today’s threats, not just yesterday’s viruses.

VoIP means your voice calls travel as data over the internet rather than a traditional phone line. It’s more flexible and cuts your calling costs.
On a capable internet connection, call quality matches, and often beats, conventional systems. We’ll check your connection is up to the task before we go live.
Yes. We can set up an IVR voice menu, ring groups, voicemail-to-email, and plenty more to route calls exactly the way you want.
